"To keep the body in good health is a duty... otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear."

Mirthe is a Functional Medicine Practitioner that is passionate about facilitating optimal health and wellbeing. With Functional Medicine looking at the root underlying cause of any chronic health condition, Mirthe specialises in both prevention and treatment, with the aim to maximise quality of life, stimulate the self-healing capacity of the body, and slow down ‘ageing’.
Finding and removing triggers for auto-immune conditions, infertility, mental disorders and anti-ageing are some of her many fields of passion.
Mirthe gained a Bachelor or Health (Major Sports Physiotherapy) at the University Groningen, Netherlands, in 2011 and then went on to further her knowledge with a post-graduate education in Functional Medicine at the Functional Medicine University, US.
Before her Functional Medicine degree, Mirthe worked and travelled extensively in the Health domain, whether it was as the team physiotherapist for the NZ Olympic Winter Team, mental coach, personal trainer and dietitian with elite surfers, including on the World Tour Surfing, to organising exclusive ski and surf health retreats.
Mirthe now splits her time between the beautiful Swiss ski resort Verbier and London, where she works out of Notting Hill and Harley Street, but also does online consultations to help clients find the root underlying cause of their health condition, slow down ageing, and achieve the best possible version they can be.
Having struggled with Crohn’s Disease herself since a young age, and being faced with the ‘diagnosis of no return’ – strong anti- inflammatory and immune system suppressing medications for the rest of her life, with inevitably other resulting conditions and less than stellar prospectives, Mirthe, being a self-proclaimed ‘nerd’, always challenging the status quo, and with her science degree background, set out to search the literature on root causes for Crohn’s. Surprised by the overwhelming research she found, she incorporated the diet and lifestyle tweaks suggested, and, within half a year, was ‘disease free’. This sparked her intrigue in Functional Medicine, as she wanted to help others do the same.
From a young age, and encouraged by her parents, who both practised, and still practise daily, Mirthe was intrigued by Eastern philosophies and ancient medicine, such as Yoga, Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Buddhism, and many more. She started a regular Yoga practise at a very young age, mainly to help relieve her then bad belly aches, but also Meditation for Mental Performance.
It is her ultimate goal to help you take back your health and thrive again – and to know that you too are perfectly able to do that.
